An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Catering Assistant to join our nursing care services in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. As a Catering Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the safe preparation, reheating, presentation, and serving of meals using Apetito products, alongside basic food preparation. You will ensure that residents receive nutritious, well-presented meals that reflect their individual preferences and dietary needs. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment in line with Forest Healthcare’s core values. Responsible for: Basic breakfast preparations and preparation of occasional home baking (cakes and sandwiches, etc). Reheating, plating, and serving meals in line with Apetito guidance, ensuring presentation standards are met. To fill in all necessary legal paperwork where required, i.e. cleaning schedules, temperatures and health and safety paperwork. Stock control and ordering of food and catering supplies. Prepare food orders for residents in accordance with individual preferences and dietary requirements. Preparing trays for diners, ensuring meals are served correctly and promptly. To collaborate with the wider team to ensure the dining experience meets company standards and core values. Full training on reheating, plating, and serving our menu will be given. To wash all dirty cooking utensils, crockery, pots and pans using correct machinery and detergents and also wash up by hand when necessary.
